Meet our team

Meet the team behind Export Solutions – a dedicated group of professionals committed to helping Australian and New Zealand exporters succeed on the global stage. 

Over the past 20+ years, we’ve supported over 3,000 companies, government agencies, and industry bodies at more than 165 overseas trade fairs, driving their success in international markets.

Katarina Dayoan
VIC / TAS

Katarina has a global perspective on business, having worked in Europe, with clients in South America, Africa, the Euro zone, Russia and the developing markets. Her role included financial analysis at both company and severing level. Moving to Australia in 2011, she has been based in Sydney and, from 2014, Melbourne. This wide experience underpins her understanding of the importance of exports for Australia, and the challenges we face, benefitting both trade show exhibitors and export grant applicants. Her strong communication skills and calm professional approach are key to her success in trade show pavilion management.

Gemma Hansen

In her 23 years with Export Solutions, Gemma has proactively applied her tertiary education in both Marketing and Business Administration, and her experience working across most sectors, to consistently achieve successful outcomes for exporters both with international trade fairs and seeking funding to develop export markets.

Her strong client focus has helped businesses ranging from first time exporters, through to large Government agencies, manage their trade fair participation and ensure that our shows deliver a strong platform for international growth.  Having the experience of working with exporters on both grant applications and trade fair management across the Middle East and Asia has given her knowledge and understanding of what is required to ensure a successful exhibition experience and how that ties into a businesses overall export strategy.

With 40 years of business experience, including 23 dedicated to supporting Australian export businesses, Philip has a proven track record in facilitating international market success. Over the past 16 years, he has successfully delivered national pavilions at a wide range of global trade fairs, enabling Australian exporters to showcase their products to international buyers. His extensive on-site experience spans numerous countries, including Indonesia, China, Singapore, the UAE (Dubai), Vietnam, Germany, the USA, Italy, Mongolia, and Korea.

Philip has also played a key role in managing projects and programs for various State and Federal Government initiatives, spanning sectors such as research and development (R&D) and export promotion.

Simon Norris

Simon’s tertiary qualifications in both accounting and agriculture, together with over 16 years experience at Export Solutions working with exporters to access grant funding, is the solid base for technical, strategic and practical advice to Australian exporters seeking grant funding, and considering participating in international trade fairs. He is well regarded by the government auditors, respected for his technical knowledge of the grant program, and appreciated for his commercial approach that gets results.

Josephine Sivwright

Josephine has over 25 years experience as a Chartered Accountant working with business clients, including some 14 years with Export Solutions. Her accounting skills and broad business knowledge are invaluable as she works through the preparation of the most challenging grants, seeking out expenses that clients often don’t realise are eligible – resulting in larger grants. Jo’s experience dealing with the legislation and Guidelines, and her well prepared supporting documents, ensure that issues can be argued confidently at audit.

Previously, she held roles with top creative agencies, including The Brand Agency and FutureBrand. Elly is passionate about helping brands succeed on the global stage.
