FHC Goes West!
The organisers of FHC China, China's global food and hospitality trade show, have announced a first edition to take place in Chengdu, West China and to be held immediately after the annual FHC exhibition in Shanghai in November 2013. Branded as FHC West China, this new trade event will provide a first international standard, marketing platform for food and drinks suppliers to access the vast interior market of China through Chengdu, China's fastest growing city and the natural trade centre for Western China.
The first FHC West China will take place on the 18th November 2013 as a one day "road show", held immediately after the major FHC China 2013 exhibition which runs from 13-15 November 2013 in Shanghai. The timing of the FHC West China "road show" allows for companies to follow on from their participation at FHC in Shanghai by travelling to Chengdu over the weekend to join FHC West China the following Monday. The "road show" exhibition will comprise table top displays followed by a press conference and networking reception in the 5 Star Crowne Plaza Chengdu City Centre Hotel. The venue is conveniently located for both visitors and exhibitors. The airport is 18km south west of the hotel and travel time is between 30-40 minutes by taxi.
FHC West China 2013 is organised with the full support of the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Expositions, CCPIT Chengdu Sub-council and the relevant retailer and hospitality associations. Retailers and traders of food and drinks, hospitality and catering organisations will attend the "road show" from Chengdu; neighbouring Municipality of Chongqing; Sichuan province; West and Southern China.
Chengdu, The capital of Sichuan province is tipped to become China’s powerhouse for investment and development over the next decade. The city is the preferred destination for foreign investment in Western China particularly in IT, automobile, aircraft industries and financial services. 233 of the top 500 enterprises listed in the Fortune Magazine 2012 rankings have set up business in the city. While Chengdu’s GDP in 2012 is expected to reach US$ 128 billion. An increase of 13 percent from the previous year.
Chengdu residents, who total 14 million, neighbouring Municipality of Chongqing with a population of 32.3 million and the province of Sichuan with 80.5 million inhabitants, have long been a famed for their love of food and drink. The per capita income is amongst the fastest growing in China and growth in the hospitality industry has been spectacular in recent years.
FHC West China comes at the perfect time for international suppliers of food and beverages to make their first level of investigation into the Chengdu and the booming West China market. The "road show" will offer companies the opportunity to network with a whole new group of food and drinks traders that supply the West and Southern markets of China and make contacts and sales to this previously untapped market.
